Our restaurant is a warm and welcoming place where travellers gather to share stories, recharge, and savour the flavours of Lapland. Whether you are craving a hearty meal after a long hike, a relaxed lunch with a view, or a cozy evening by the fire, Restaurant Saana offers honest, comforting food in the heart of Kilpisjärvi – right at the foot of the iconic Saana fell. Restaurant reopens after winter break on 1 February 2027.

Our Story
Kilpisjärven Retkeilykeskus is a family-run business, with roots that reach back over a hundred years at the foot of Saana. Now in its third generation, in the same place and with the same purpose: to offer travellers shelter, rest, and a sense of well-being in the heart of the North’s unique wilderness. This is our story.
